District and magistrate/metropolitan courts are responsible for adjudicating all non-federal felonies and misdemeanors. In addition, New Mexico provides state-wide data on all non-federal felonies and misdemeanors adjudicated within the state. When a case is located, ERS uses the subject's name, date of birth and social security number to verify that the subject of the case is the same person as the subject of the search. Not all of these identifiers can be found on all criminal cases. The most commonly used identifier for criminal cases is the subject's date of birth.
